The run of wounds inflicted by James Pattinson has continued, with the Australian quickly collecting a side tension that looms as the last obstacle in trying to do a return test to Ash.
Pattinson, who has not played in Australia since 2016 due to a series of injuries, should miss the rest of Big Bash this summer for Brisbane because of the blow.
The 28-year-old only made his return to first-class cricket this summer after a period of 15 months that included spinal surgery in 2017.
However he was hurt again in the loss Heat at the Melbourne Renegades on Thursday evening, before the scans confirm a lateral fatigue
"We will closely monitor his recovery as he returns, but the most likely scenario is that he will not be ready to play on time," said , trainer of Heat Daniel Vettori.
The injury arrives after the express Rapid declared his wish in November to return for Ashes of this year
One of Australia's most dangerous paceman in its maximum, Pattinson took 70 wickets in 1
He has also been solid in returning to this season, taking nine wickets at 33 Victoria in the Sheffield Shield and four more for Heat in the BBL. The right armor will probably try to get back in time for the last four rounds of Shield of the season, which will begin on February 23rd for Victoria against Queensland.
Meanwhile, Ben Cutting was knocked out to play Brisbane's return match against Renegades on Sunday, despite requiring five points for a blow to the forehead as he attempts to grab hold.
