Sequel and reboot are a dozen of these days, so it's hard to be genuinely excited about one, but having said that, we're more or less ourselves at the announcement that there's a Coming To America 2  with Eddie Murphy returning to the main role.
The original Coming To America was a hit back in 1988 – that is, the era in which Eddie Murphy was still making unquestionably good films. She acted in the role of Akeem a cuddly African prince who went undercover in Queens New York to escape a married marriage and find a woman For love.
During the night, Murphy made a statement about the new film project, saying:
"After many years of waiting, I am thrilled that Coming to America 2 is officially moving forward.We have assembled a great team that will be guided by Craig Brewer, who has just done a fantastic job on Dolemite, and I can not wait to bring all these classic and beloved characters back to the big screen. "
For a description of the upcoming film on Deadline :
"Akeem learns of a long lost son and has to return to America to meet his unlikely heir to the throne of Zamunda."
It is hoped that the sequel will reunite the original cast Coming To America included Arsenio Hall as shoulder of Akeem Semmi Shari Headley as his love interest Lisa John Amos as the father of Lisa and James Earl Jones as his father, the king.
The writers of the original film, Barry Blaustein and David Sheffield wrote a screenplay for the sequel, and is currently in the process of rewriting Kenya Barris of Black-ish . It is hoped that the production of the film will kick off this year
